Creating Custom Views and Custom Filters For Tagged Duplicates

Creating Custom Views and Custom Filters For Tagged Duplicates

Our extension automatically tags records that are identified as duplicates. In this article we will walk you through different ways the automated tag can be used in custom views and custom filters. This will enable to easily filter and manage duplicate records.

1. Automated Tag for Identifying Duplicates

The automated tag our extension automatically adds is named Check Duplicates in Notes and is colored in  red  as you can see in the sample below.

2. Creating Custom Views Based on Automated Tag

Custom views enable you to filter records based on one or multiple criteria. In our example, we will only use one criteria and that is our Check Duplicates in Notes tag. To create a custom view click on your current View and after the dropdown list of available view opens click on New Custom View which will appear on the bottom of the list. From there follow the screenshots below to create a custom view named Potential Duplicates in your own CRM based on the automated tag.

When you are done with the steps above select which users will be able to see the view and click Save.

Notes
Our suggestion is to use the process above to create custom views in Leads, Contacts, Accounts and Vendors modules.

3. Creating Custom Filters Based on Automated Tag

You can also use the automated tag to create custom filters.

Notes
Please note that custom filters are view-specific. If you want to use the custom filter from the example above in multiple views you will have to recreate it within each view.

4. Removing Automated Tag from Records

Once you are done checking duplicates in the Notes related list you can remove the tag from the record that was identified as a duplicate. This will ensure that the record no longer appears in custom views and custom filters that you created.

We hope this provides you with sufficient guidance on how to utilize our automated tag to create custom view and custom filters. If you have any question please feel free to email us at helpdesk@magpie-bt.eu.
